Thought for the Week

You must have long-range goals to keep you from being frustrated by short-range failures.

Smoke Detector Awareness

Bill Austin is coordinating our Smoke Detector Awareness program again this year.   We will be handing our flyers at Wal-Mart and Rural King this Saturday from 9 am – Noon.  We will be reminding people to check and replace  the batteries in their smoke detectors.  If you can help Bill this Saturday morning, please let him know.

K Education – Kiwanis Structure

Kiwanis International is the worldwide association of Kiwanis Clubs.  The Kiwanis International Headquarters is located in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Kiwanis clubs are organized into about 50 districts around the world.  Our district is the Louisiana – Mississippi – West Tennessee District with the district office in Baton Rouge, La.  Within each district, clubs are grouped into divisions, usually of about 8 – 12 clubs per division.  A lieutenant governor leads each division, visiting the clubs in his or her division and advising them on administrative and service matters.  Our club is in Division 1A and our Lt. Governor is Linda Ramsey from our club.   Other clubs in Division 1A are Union City, Dyersburg, McKenzie, and South Fulton.
