Smoke Alarm  Awareness Campaign

Thank you to the nine members who help last Saturday at Wal-Mart and Rural King to spread the word about having operating smoke detectors.  Also, a big THANK YOU to Bill Austin for heading up this project again this year.

K Education – Club Finances

Kiwanis Clubs are required to maintain two bank accounts for financial records.  The accounts are Administrative Account and Activities (or Service) account.  All money raised from fund raising activities must be deposited in the Activities account and must be used for public service.  The Administrative Account is used for administrative expenses of the club, such as supplies, dues, and meals.  Any extra money  in the Administrative Account may be deposited in the Activities Account for public service.  But, no money raised from fund raising activities may be used for membership purposes.  Our club’s fund raising activities are the Delivered BBQ Lunch, Pancake Day, and the Soybean 5K Roadrace.  Money from the 50/50 activity, guest meals, Air Evac contributions, and monthly dues are deposited in the Administrative Account.  All other money is deposited in the Activities Account.
