Mid-Winter Conference

A Mid-Winter Conference is the annual mid-year training conference that the District uses to re-motivate and refocus Kiwanians following the lengthy holiday season.   The Mid-Winter Conference will be held this year in Baton Rouge, La. on February 10-12.  Even though the priority date for hotel reservations has passed (Jan. 17), there are still rooms available at the Baton Rouge Marriott.   The advance conference registrations should be mailed by February 6.

Countdown to Kindergarten

WLJT-TV and the Weldon Public Library are sponsoring the Countdown to Kindergarten on Saturday morning, Feb. 11.  They are asking for volunteers to help staff the event this year with registration, reading to kids, etc.  If you can help contact Roberta Peacock or Sue Lasky, or see the signup sheet passed around at the meetings.

Pancake Tickets

Tickets to this year’s Pancake Day fundraiser have been distributed to members. If you have not received your tickets yet, please see John Overby.  The club voted for members to be responsible for selling 15 tickets or paying $60.00.  Please try to sell over 15!  More the Better!!!

The more tickets we sell, the more money we have for community service.

Cub Scout Pack 37 Help

The Cub Scout Pack 37 will hold it’s annual Pinewood Derby Race on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 11 am in the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.  We need volunteers to help conduct the race.  Please see Steve Lemond if you can help Saturday morning for a couple of hours.
