Cub Scout Pack 37 News

Thanks to Bill Austin, Otha Britton, Frances Bynum, and John Overby for helping out Saturday at the annual Pinewood Derby race.  We had 8 Tiger Scouts  (1st Grade), 7 Wolf Scouts (2nd Grade), and 2 Webelos (5th Grade) to race.  A great time was had by everyone.  Our next big event is the Blue & Gold Banquet on Monday, Feb. 20. at the Methodist Church.  February is Scouting month, and this is our time to celebrate this event.

Mid-Winter Conference

Mid-Winter Conference is only 2 weeks away.  Linda Ramsey and Evelyn Blythe will be attending from our club.  A silent auction will be held at the conference to benefit the District Foundation.  If you or your company has any products that you could donate to the silent auction, see Linda and Evelyn for more information. The conference is Feb. 10-12 in Baton Rouge, La.

Countdown to Kindergarten

WLJT-TV and the Weldon Public Library are sponsoring the Countdown to Kindergarten on Saturday morning, Feb. 11.  They are asking for volunteers to help staff the event this year with registration, reading to kids, etc.  If you can help contact Roberta Peacock or Sue Lasky, or see the signup sheet passed around at the meetings.

Pancake Tickets

Sell! Sell!  Sell!  Tickets to this year’s Pancake Day fundraiser have been distributed to members. If you have not received your tickets yet, please see John Overby.  The club voted for members to be responsible for selling 15 tickets or paying $60.00.  Please try to sell over 15!  More the Better!!!  The more tickets we sell, the more money we have for community service.
