Board of Director’s Minutes

The Board of Directors met last Thursday for the March meeting with 8 members present.  The secretary and treasurer reports were approved as presented.  Charley Deal reported that most of the money from Pancake Day is in, but a few still have outstanding ticket money.  Bob Bradley was granted a Leave of Absence from January – May due to his teaching schedule.  A motion was approved to give Matt Kimsey $250 toward his participating in the academic leadership program this summer in Washington, D.C.  We are still looking for members to help as advisors to the Builder’s Club.  Please see President David, if you can help out.  The PR class project is in full swing.  Some members will be attending the class to answer questions.

Myrtle Harton’s Birthday

Myrtle Harton will be 90 on April 13, 2006.  I know she would appreciate hearing from her Kiwanis friends.  If you would like to send her a card or email, here’s the info:  Myrtle Harton,  P.O. Box 1032, Union City, TN  38281, myrtlew@bigplanet.com  There’s also a party planned at the First Methodist Church in Union City, TN from 2-5PM on April 8, 2006, and everyone is invited.

Leave of Absence

If a member is unable to attend club meetings due to work, travel or other circumstances, the member may request a Leave of Absence from the club for a specified time period.  The member should make a written request to the Board of Directors stating the time period involved and the reason for the Leave.  The Board will act upon the request and notify the member if it was granted or not.  A leave may be requested for no less than 1 month or no more than 6 months a one time.
