UTM Scholarship

Our club awarded the UT Martin Scholarship to James Logan Wright of Martin.  Logan will be majoring in Engineering.  Logan is the son of Jeff and Brenda Wright.

Election Results

Thank you to everyone for agreeing to be a candidate in this year’s elections.  The results from last week’s election are: 

Positions requiring no vote:

    President:                          Misty Menees

    President Elect:                Frank Black

    Past President:                  David Spencer

    Board members:               Steve Lemond, Michele Siler

                (These board members have one year remaining on their term)

Positions requiring election:

    Vice President:                 Sue Lasky

    Secretary                           Frances Bynum

    Treasurer                           Charley Deal

Board Members, serving a two year term Terry Duncan, Nadine Gearin, Fran Robinson   Bonnie Hernon was elected to complete Sue Lasky’s remaining one year on the board.

The officers and directors will assume their duties with the new Kiwanis year beginning October 1.

Aktion Club

The Aktion Club will meet one week early, 1st Tuesday in June, June 6, to prepare for Relay for Life.  Also beginning in June, the Aktion Club will only meet once per month for the Summer.

Luminary Sales for Relay for Life

Mary Ann Baxter is chairperson for the Luminary sales for our club.  Mary Ann will have the forms for you to complete to give a luminary in honor or memory of someone.  Each luminary is $5.00.  Help support this fundraiser for Relay for Life.

Fishing Derby Saturday

The annual Fishing Derby is THIS SATURDAY, June 3, at the Martin Recreational Complex.  The registration will begin at 7 am and fishing begins at 8 am.  The event will end by lunch.  We will need members to help with registration and weigh-in on Saturday morning.   Thank you Frances for coordinating this event.
