Kiwanis Education – Tablet of Honor

The Kiwanis International Foundation Tablet of Honor was authorized in 1965 as a means to honor individuals, Kiwanis clubs, divisions, districts, or organizations that have exemplified dedicated service to Kiwanis, their club, or community. The Tablet of Honor is a vehicle for memorializing Kiwanis leaders, spouses, or friends, as well as a means of honoring a spouse or friend on the anniversary of a special occasion. Tablet of Honor contributions can be made on behalf of an individual, a couple (husband and wife), a club, corporation, or organization. Individuals, however, cannot honor themselves.

Recipients are presented an attractive walnut wall plaque signifying that a contribution has been made in their name.   In addition, the recipient receives a tie tack/lapel pin, and a pocket crest.  Currently, the minimum contribution is $2,000 US dollars.  When most of our club members received their Tablet, the amount was $1,000.

Recipients are honored each year at a special Kiwanis International convention reception, and their names are added to the Tablet of Honor electronic accolade at the Kiwanis International Office.

Funds received for a Tablet of Honor will be designated to the Kiwanis International Foundation Endowment, earnings from which provide grants to clubs and districts and also support programs such as Key Leader, Service Leadership Programs, and the Sustainability of Universal Salt Iodization (IDD). If desired, contributors can direct their donations to one of the specific programs, or they can indicate that their donation be placed in the general endowment fund.

Club Program Committee

Thank you to Lesa Finch and Kathy Eskew for agreeing to serve on the Club Program Committee.  They will join Shirley Borden and SK Airee to provide the weekly programs.  If you have program ideas or hear of possible speakers, please pass this information along to members of this committee.

District Convention

The District Convention is August 3 – 6 at the Grand Casino Hotel in Tunica, Miss.  It’s not too late to reserve hotel rooms at the discounted rate.  Please see Linda Ramsey for convention registration forms.
