March Board Meeting
The Board of Directors of the Martin Kiwanis Club met on Thursday March 1st.  The Board voted to participate in Kiwanis One Day, but since this day falls the day before Easter when lots of members will not be able to take part we will select our own date for a special project.   We will coordinate this project with the City of Martin Clean Up Day and still involve our sponsored youth. A date to be announced.   Brandy Cartmell was approved for a one month leave of absence from the club and Larry Taylor was approved for membership into the club.  The board voted to give the Kiwanis International annual club gift of $275 which is equal to $5 per member.  The board also discussed but took no action on keeping our main focus on children as our mission statement reads. Basically we want to keep our focus on children and not other causes.  The 2007-08 nominating committee is being led by David Spencer.  If you want to become more involved with our club by becoming a board member or an officer step forward and tell someone on the committee.
