3.  COURSE REQUIREMENTS/EXPECTATIONS:

a.  Grading Procedures.

(1)  Grade Determination.  Your grade is based on all aspects of your performance in ROTC this semester.  While you as a contracted cadet are required and graded on your class, lab, PT, FTX, and assigned leadership duty performance, your participation is strongly encouraged in other ROTC activities such as Ranger Challenge, Rifle team, Color Guard, Drill team, home football game push-ups in the end zone, cannon crew, intramural sports, etc.  Each MSL IV cadet is expected to serve in at least one color guard event each semester.  Bonus points will be awarded for full participation in Ranger Challenge (50 points) and rifle team (25 points) train-up and competition.  Color Guard participation earns 5 points per event.  A maximum of 1000 points is available throughout the semester with corresponding letter grade given as the final grade.

A   =   1000 - 900

B   =     899 - 800

C   =     799 - 700

(3)  Each of you will receive either a battalion or company leadership position for the year.  Quickly determine the duties of this assignment and meet with me for guidance.  Part of your grade is determined by your abilities to handle greater leadership roles and develop junior cadets.

(4)  Each MSL IV cadet is expected to serve in at least one Color Guard event each semester for the purpose of having the experience, encouraging other cadets to participate, and to lead by example.
