Physical Training Excellence "290 & Above Club" Each semester, cadets are given the opportunity to test their physical abilities by participating in the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). The APFT consists of three events: push-ups, sit-ups, and 2-mile run. Scoring is based on a 100-point scale for each event, yielding a maximum possible score of 300 points. Using an extended scale, cadets can earn more than 300 points if they achieve at least 100 in each event. Cadets who achieve at least 90 points in each event earn the Army Physical Fitness Badge and a nameplate on the UTM Skyhawk Battalion "290 & Above Club" Physical Fitness Trophy, which is displayed in the front office of the ROTC building.
