There are two principal types of membership in Sigma Xi -- full membership and associate membership. Full membership is for those who have demonstrated noteworthy achievement as an original investigator in pure or applied science or engineering. Associate membership is for those who have shown an aptitude for research
through initial research achievement in a field of pure or applied
science. For more information on these membership categories, or to
obtain appropriate nomination forms, visit the national Sigma Xi Web site, or contact one of the officers of the UT Martin chapter.
Two other categories include honorary membership and affiliate membership.
Affiliate membership is for those who don't qualify for full or
associate membership, but who want to demonstrate support for the goals
of Sigma Xi.
