Student TEA/Student NEA
"Prepares tomorrow's teachers--Be a part of your future today."

Established in 1957, the Tennessee Education Association (TEA)/ National Education Association (NEA) Student Program is a membership organization of college students enrolled in teacher education programs at over 1,000 colleges and universities. The Student Tennessee Education Association (STEA) is a pre-professional organization for persons who are preparing to be educators in any of the institutions of higher education in the state of Tennessee.

Student TEA seeks to provide students a voice in matters affecting their education and their profession, to influence the conditions under which prospective teachers are prepared, and to stimulate the the highest ideals of professional ethics, standards, attitudes, and training. The program encourages members to influence changes in education, the development of teachers and society. STEA helps to lead education majors to a brighter professional future and helps facilitate the transition from the campus to the classroom.

As Student TEA members, we are united in our purpose -- to educate children and make our society and world better.

WORKING TOGETHER we accomplish so much more than we could individually. STEA helps us make a difference in the future--today.
