Benita Evans, News Director, is a junior broadcasting major from Dresden, Tennessee, who has a passion for news. Evans won 2nd place at the Southeast Journalism Conference for Best Radio Journalist and is honored to be part of an Award winning Radio Station. Other honors include the 2008- 2009 WCMT Duke Drum scholarship award, the 2009-2010 Nanney-Sebegarth scholarship, the 2009-2010 Aspiring Women Scholarship, and the 2009-2010 Stewart Byers Production Award. More recently, Evans was honored with the Beth Maloan Outstanding Student Employee award at UT Martin. After completing her degree, Evans plans to attend graduate school and study public affairs reporting. Ultimately, she wants to work for The Fox Radio News Network or The Cable News Radio Network (CNN) as a correspondent.
