In Emily Dickinson's poem "I like to see it lap the miles" she is wanting you to pay attention to every detail to understand what she is tring to say. It is not very clear at the beginning of the poem what she is tring to describe but by the second stanza it was clear to me that she was writing about a train ride in the mountains and if you read it carefully you can visualize the ride.
