    In Carlyle's portrait of Coleridge (on page 918) he discusses how when Coleridge talked he never really answered any question that he was asked. He says he just kind of talked around the subject until something else interested him. Did Coleridge's mind always seem to wander as Carlyle described here, or was this the cause of Coleridge's addiction to opium?
