    In Edylls of the King, Lines 7-15, Pelleos had won a sword and circlet already for a lady and therefore could be knighted. Why is he not with this lady? At first, I thought the story of Ettarre might be a flashback to his first tournament and she be the same as mentioned on p. 1141, but later references show that he was known already as Arthor's knight when he tourneyed for Ettarre. The footnotes continue referring to Malory. Is Tennyson just rewriting Malory's Morte Darthur with a few original twists?
