After Beowulf had slain Grendel's mother, he found the body of Grendel and removed the head to carry along with him. Why did he not also carry the head of Grendel's mother? Does this have something to do with the ideas of vengence vs. glory? Was the killing of Grendel's mother only an act of vengence, whereas Grendel's death was for the glory (using the head for proof)?
