Two questions:
1--what were contemporary reactions to George Moore's story "Albert Nobbs"?
It seems to have a lot of overtones of lesbianism, even though the characters are explicitly not looking for a sexual relationship.
So how did people take this? In an age where a major leader (Parnell) was ruined because of adultery, I doubt the Irish would have well tolerated homosexuality.
2--why does this page have the name "Bubba" at the top?
