    This question can be seen two fold. Jimmy Carter was not a strong president, and probably reinforced the misconceptions about all Southern politicians being "good ole boys," but look at his recent contributions to the community. His work with Habitat for Humanity and other organizations is commendable. Why not view this as a positive change in a Southern politician, who learned from his mistakes and now capitalizes on his strengths by helping his community? I think that Carter has now earned nation wide repect in his efforts to improve the conditions of poverty in the South.
