I believe that it is harder for a woman to be elected to the office of Senate and any other political office of high standing period. Whether she is from the South or not. It is considered to be a man's world and it pretty much is There is still a lack of equality between men and women. Women have come a long way but men are still running are national and state government therefore automatically giving them more power. It is twice as hard for a minority (black, hispanic, indian) to be elected in an state or national office. Southern politics are merely southern morals made law, traditions make up the majority of the laws of Southern states. There are many laws that are illegal now that were illegal decades ago. Some are just no longer enforced as they were back then. The South needs to go through a total reformation. For until we do there will never be proper representation for minorities or women.
