I used to be ashamed of being from the South because of the lack of culture. Until I really learned to think for myself, that is. I wanted to go live in Illinois because everybody on my street came from there with the new factory. I assumned thats where the good people were. Anyway from what I have seen, there is no place on earth as pretty as Tennessee. I am fortunate to have been born here and it will be no small task to make me leave. I had assumned we had no culture, that the north cornerd that market but now it seems just the opposite. That the north has taken the European culture and adapted it to our country. The south has truly built a culture and it is often mis- understood as an ignorence on our part because we do not as a whole strive to understand that european version of the U.S. But a lot of people feel no need to watch french films or See a Russian ballet. And that is a shame because a blend of all cultures is a hell of a good way to understand others.
