    In all honesty, we could do better. I'm from here, so I've rarely had trouble fitting in. But plenty of my friends are from the North, and they've been treated with the utmost in rudeness by Southerners. (Such a friend moving here from Michigan took a high school English class in which, during a class where they were reading "The Unvanquished," she had the phrase "Yankee, go home" and worse hissed at her by the people sitting behind her.) Basically, there are some things we really need to get over.
