I don't get it. Where is the South? I lived most of my life further south than most of the South, but wasn't a Southerner. I now live further north than much of the US, but I'm definitely still in the South. I guess being a Southerner is a state of mind, not a state in the Union (if that word is hard to say, you just might be a Southerner.)
