I know that change is inevitable, and you can try to define what changes are good and what changes are bad in regards to the South. But I believe with every Southern fiber of my being that there will always be a "South". And I'm not just talking about geography. Cities can change and grow, winding dirt roads can get paved, and my little hometown can grow from 5 to 11 thousand residents in no time at all. There are things that won't change, however--and these things are the most important of all. Celebrate the stories told by our grandparents, the humid summer nights, the farms and the cows, the fact that football is religion, and celebrate the fact that you are a Southerner. Change cannot take that away from you.
