A defining moment in my life was the day I started high school in the South. I had grew up in a small northern town, and had no idea what to expect from my new home. As soon as I met some people, though, I felt incredibly welcome. The "Southern hospitality" that I had heard so much about was really true! As silly as it sounds, I think that if the kindness of the South was ever to change, it would seem as if something were missing. In all the other areas of the country that I have visited, I have never felt as at home as I do here. Maybe it's the fact that Southerners are more laid back or maybe it's because I have only encountered rude people everywhere else, but, regardless, I feel that the hospitality is a staple of the South, and it would be horrible if that ever changed. Have a good day!
