The South has a lot of different distinct characteristics. Some of these characteristics will stay with the South but others will diminish. One of the main characteristics of the South that will change is its agriculture. The South has always been known for its great farmland. But today small farmers can't make a living. Only the biggest farms will still be around twenty years down the road. The South is also known for having a lot of rural areas. This is another characteristic that I think is about to change. New industries move into the South all the time. The South is going to have less rural areas in the future. A lot more industries are going to move into the South and the towns will grow. The language and culture of the South are some of the characteristics that will never change. People of the South are always going to have their own way of saying certain words because that is one thing that I think that nobody wants to change. I also think that the culture of the South will never change because if the culture did change then should we still be considered the South? Another characteristic of the South that I don't think will ever change is the foods that we are known for. Southern people will not be able to live without their southern food.
