The South has always been known for its music capital, Nashvile, TN. The traditional country music almost does not exist. What was once known for its bluegrass melodies, country music has added a more pop, up-beat to its sound. Many artists such as Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, Faith Hill and The Dixie Chicks have contributed to this change; a change that I like. Many listeners tuned their radio stations to country when Garth Brooks' "Shameless" hit the air. This new era consists of many young listeners as well as older ones. I believe country music will continue to venture into new horizons, but will never lose that Southern "twang."
