For the most part, I do not completely associate myself with every belief and tradition upheld in the South. Since the South is so muddled within its celebrated tradition, the growth in the past has been slow at best. It seems, however, that this downfall is beginning to change. The Civil War and the South's embarrasing defeat is becoming a distant memory. This area is getting with the times and is now an extremely important and intricate part of this nation.
I do not mean to sound disparaging of the South. In fact, I choose not to live anywhere else. I have traveled a bit and in doing so I have come to appreciate the South more. I remember particularly visiting New York City. It was my most enriching trip ever. And although I enjoyed myself immensely, I was happy to be back in the nation's cradle surrounded by southern comfort and the genteel dispositions.
