Technological advancements will change "The South" only to accommodate the 21st century. The Northern companies are buying out the smaller southern companies. The South has low labor and real estate cost. Eventually the South will look no different from the North. The game is called monopoly. In schools the class size will be reduced. Students are more apt to quit because lack of ambition. Education is pushing kids harder to learn quicker to keep up with the fast pace society. My son is in the kindergarten; he has a spelling test every week. When I was in the kindergarten twenty years ago, I was barely learning my alphabets. There will be less teachers, teaching will not be an ideal job as it once was. There is so much violence in schools; no one will want to work in that kind of atmosphere. I cannot imagine why a child would take another classmates life. The South is well known for the southern hospitality. Welcoming the new neighbors with a baked apple pie. Folks will carry a conversation with someone just because of their presence being. Southern people are more likley to offer a helping hand; they are not so much wrapped up with themselves. These are some great qualities that the "The South" has to offer. There are many other things that will stay the same. Like eating southern orgin foods grits, frog legs, fried bologna, and okra. Favorite pass times will hold true, listenig to country music, driving pick-up trucks, and riding horses. Religion will triumph in the South. Some history will be seen through traditionally held events: Civil War Days and County Fairs. If there was a change to make the South no longer the South it will be the agriculture. The South is the ideal climate for majority of the agriculture industry of the nation. If there was no agriculture the South will collapse. Such a change will not happen, agriculture is a high demand. The South is a blessing that every one should appreciate.
