As with everything, change is inevitable. We can't stop what will happen in the future, but we can learn to deal with the worst. To say that the South will not change is naive because no human knows what awaits them. Even so, I can think of one part of Southern culture that will always follow along with the times. Football seems to be the center of many happy moments. Whether it be middle school, high school, college, or professional, Southerners love to watch football. There is nothing like spending Tuesdays and Thursdays watching the younger children learn how to play the sport. Going to the local high school to watch a game on Friday night is always a favorite. Of course, who can forget college football. Spending the entire Saturday afternoon, as well as some national holidays, watching the game is a thrill for many. That to some is happiness and a way of life, even though some people cannot understand the satisfaction that it can bring. Hopefully, the only changes that the South will experience will be for the best. However, change is going to happen, but it is comforting to know that some things will never change.
