As a child, I traveled outside the southern states and now as an adult I have worked with many people not from southern states. One compliment I have received time and again is on my southern hospitality and kindness. I was raised to been kind to others whether I knew them or not and whether I was giving or getting a service from them. The children I grew up with were raised with the same morals and beliefs. My questions now is, "Are the parents of young children today raising them with these morals and beliefs?" I don't see as much of this wonderful trait in the children today. Many seem not only rude towards other adults but also towards their own parents. Maybe I just did not see it when I was a child and now I'm aware of it because I am one of the adults the rudeness is directed toward. Hopefully this is just me and not the start of a change in the one good way Southerners are seen.
