I just returned from hearing Mr. Earley read a couple of stories that captured the Southern family culture. The things he talked about, such as the guns his family owned or the farm his grandmother lived on, I can not say that I can relate to. But the thing I can most relate to is the stories in them selves. I now look back at many dinners, and how my family sat back and told stories of fights, and phone calls from the principal, and camping trips, and soccer games. And the same stories come up every Thanksgiving and Christmas and Easter, but they always seem to bust my gut like it was the first time I heard them.
