I think it is any kind of music because most all music has its roots somewere in soutern style all music from country to rap has some roots in southern ground. all music started from old folk songs setting around the campfire Southern music is any type of music that tells stories and comes from your heart how you sing that music is what makes it so diverse there are rock songs that if a different artist sings them a different way they become country and vise verse so really what is Southern Music really defined as It depends on what you as an indivual consider music
