    Some of my most enjoyable times in my teenage years happened when I was participating in my high school's jazz band. I loved to sit back and soak in all of the interesting sounds and the feelings produced by this music. Also there is another genre of music that plays a tremendous role in my life--southern gospel. Whether it be at my church, on my home's Christian music station, or from my dad singing an old gospel tune, southern gospel music has been a part my inner core and supported my belief system. I know that some people complain about the South and its culture, but I particularly like and celebrate its existence.
