Southern music to me is not just the songs but also the history and sounds. When you think of the noises you hear each morning as you wakeup you relize that the sounds of the south are the songs of the south. When I think of the history behind some of the old songs you hear in Church like Amazing Grace you realise that the south is full some happy events and manny sad events. You hear them all in the music you lisen to. I like the old lulabys that my Great aunt used to sing to me when she would come to visit. They were soung to her by her nannie and they sounded so sweet and soulfull but each song she sang told me a sory of a past that I knew nothing about. When I would ask what sertain words ment she would only reply that I would understand some day. This is true I also learned more on my lulabys during american history in high school. My teacher was really in to the music that went along with the history and the meaning behind old songs. I learned that the country music that my parents lisend to was some times some of the best history lesons I could get. They also lisent to gosple and blue grass were I learned many things just through the music. I have always been the tipe of person who could lisen to some one for houres and learn everything they are talking about but if I am asked to read something it just doesn't stick as well. I have always liked music. It tuched a part of my soul that nothing els could but when I'm riding in my care and the old rock'n roll comes on I get picked up just that little bit more.
