In my opinion the South doesn't just appeal to one sense. It appeals to all my senses, hearing, smelling, seeing, feeling, and tasting. Every season in the South arouses one of my senses. In the fall I can smell throughout the air the arrival of football season and the freshness of the cool breeze. In the summer I can hear the shrieks of children jumping into a cool creek and the roar of the motors on fourwheelers as a pack of riders pass by. In the winter I can feel the cool snow pierce my face as I'm searching for the best hill to slide down. The winter also leaves a distinct taste in my mouth from the frozen icicles I break off of my back porch and eat. The most spectacular part of the South would have to be the beauty it beholds. Throughout the rest of my life I will never forget all the days of watching the clouds roll by or counting the millions of stars in the beautiful sky of the South.
