Music from the south has come a long way. When I think back, decades ago, all I think about is slow boring country except for the sixties. You see, country has been modified a great deal, and I think definitely in a good way though others may beg to differ. They songs have changed dramiticly in beat and subject. Now days they talk about divorce, alcoholics, high school sweethearts; while most of the songs back them where about fighting and working on farms and stuff like that. The oldies on the other hand haven't changed a bit, probably why they call them the oldies, but that is what is remembered in my head when I thing about old southern music. The four tops and the rascals and groups like them. That is what I wish people thought of. Elvis Presley, great entertainer and will always be the king.
