Southern culture has diversified over the years and even somewhat diminished. I beleive the best of southern culture is found in the smallest towns of the south, where one finds the world moves at a slower pace. When one walks down the street and listens to the sound of an old black woman singing "Amazing Grace," it makes one think of the deep southern culture in music. People need to go back to these small towns such as Mountain View, Arkansas or Como, Tennessee where the people wave at every corner. Because of the new wave in technology the air waves are filled with the sounds of Kid Rock, 2Pac and 666 Mafia but when the radios are turned off people retrovert back to the times of folk and gospel music and the pure sounds of a banjo or harmonica. It is in these changing times that it is most important for people to realize their roots in the southern music and go back to those small towns.
