I am happy to say I was raised in the south. My home town is Covington Tennessee. When most people think of the south, they think of dirt roads, horses as transportation, and working on a farm as a job. All of my family was raised in the south. A lot of as still live in the south. Others have moved to northern parts of the states. They now speech differntly than we do in the south, but they don't forget where they come from. My family often have family gatherings about fove times a year. There we talk about the old times and catch up on things that have happen in the past that every one didn't know about. We aslo have soul food on these occassions. That food consists of cornbread, greens, black-eyed peas, butter beans, and sweet potatos.
