I could not begin to tell you if families in the south are different from anywhere else. Why? I have never been anywhere else, and I never want to. And that's probably due to the fact that I expect it is different other places. And yes I could move somewhere else and learn to like it there and adapt to my new surroundings and customs. But why would I want to. Several people have made the comment to me, that when I graduate I need to move off somewhere and start my own life. I don't understand why anyone would ever want to leave a place that makes them so happy. That's what the south does for me. I love eating Sunday dinner with my family (and that's everybody, not just momma and daddy) ever week. I love walking across acres of land that will be left to me one day, and fishing in the same pond that my great-great grandfather did, and that my great-great grandchildren will. To me southern culture is about tradition and family. I believe that everyone changes with time, but that doesn't mean that we forget who we are and where we came from. I will never forget where I come from-A great southern family!
