I believe that southern families have a different approach to life in general. Growing up, my family was always together throughout the year, not just during the holidays. Southern families tend to have traditions that have been going on for years. My great grandmother lived in the home that she was raised in as a child, and that her father was raised in and his father was raised in, and so on. Now my grandmother lives there. To me, it is amazing to walk into that house, knowing how many generations of my family it has watched grow-up. I have always felt incredible warmth when I am around my family, and I know that no matter what they will always be there for me.
