I was born and raised in the South. Growing up, I had a best friend that lived across the street from me. We got along well most of the time, and we had many things in common. But even as a child I could tell a major difference between her family and mine. After many years, and a lot of growing up, I began to understand why our families were so different. Her family was from somewhere up north whereas my family was all from the south. Their food always tasted a little funny and their ways of doing some things seemed peculiar to me. Their attitudes and the way they spoke were very entertaining. As a child I could not completely understand why they were so much different. Years passed and we moved away but I never forgot my northern friend and her strange ways. I did learn something from them though. I learned that even though our families did things differently, talked differently, and cooked differently, each family was full of love. So it makes no difference whether you are from the south or from the north. Traditions and customs may be different ,but one thing they all have in common is the love they have.
