Southern Culture, what makes it different from northern, western, or eastern culture? I think the values we instill and the trials we conquer are what make us culturally-sound. Not only the values and accomplishments but the slower-pace of living, having close-knit families, and the fact that ‘home is where the heart is,’ keep us coming back for more. My girlfriend is from a larger city and quite often she repeats, " Whenever I’m at home I never feel tired, but when I come here I feel sleepy," then I too realize that the South is not for everybody. We Southerners are accustomed to accepting what we have and taking it to heart because some day life will take us many places but somehow destiny finds a way to bring us back. Most of time the I do not attend our Southern Culture events and feel I am missing out on what my ancestors have established, therefore, I often wonder where my heart is!
