Although I was born and raised in the south my family is from the north. So in many ways I feel connected to the south and to the north. As a whole I do think that southern towns are more polite. They seem more true to their heritage than many northern areas. When given the term Southern Ladies I immediatly think of a "Southern Belle." These were women who were delicate, beautiful, and conservative. In the world today Southern Ladies are still in many ways conservative but are now more independent.
