The idea of a southern lady is one of a wonderfully dressed women with the best manners. She also doesn't lift a finger to do anything. However, after listening to the presentation, I can say that has changed. I never realized how hard many southern ladies had to work to stay afloat. The thing is that I have ideas from early in the century. As the country gets older I think that the ideas of southern women and the South in general are becoming less and less prominent. Don't get me wrong, there is definitely a big difference between the North and South, but it is not as big as it used to be. Anyway, Southern women will always have a place in history.
