Bill 's eloquent description of Miss Mary reminds my of a person I knew years ago. She would always listen very carefully, had great compassion and all those wonderfully caring qualities. Are those uniquely Southern? or could anyone fine person act that way? And is southern just tag on to help us understand where these fine folk live? I don't know. I also wonder if some females are insulted by the complement - "She is such a fine Southern Lady!"
