I think that people often see southern women as wealthy
and of high class. These should be referred to as southern
ladies. Southern women, in many cases, were not wealthy and
had to work very hard. Many times they had to help do certain
jobs that were characteristic of a man's jobs, especially
around the farm or plantation.
