Being a Chinese and only residing in the South for less than 3 years, I have little knowledge about the women in the South.
I think that women in the South and in China years ago had a lot in common.
Both of them had less respect than those male members in the communities. Both of them had less education than men.
However, I do think that Southern women overcame the society and fought for their rights during the years.
Today, even though I can still easily figure out which lady comes from the South, that's not because of what they representing themselves, which I think that every female in the U.S. has the same respect, it's just because of their accent!
