ADP at UTM

The American Democracy Project began at UT Martin in the Fall of 2004. Mike McCullough, Professor of Management, has served as the project chair since its inception. The goal of the project is to create interest and opportunities for service, political action and citizenship. On or around September 18th each year we celebrate the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Each April we celebrate the natural environment during "Earth Week", coinciding with Earth Day. Throughout the year events are planned, speakers brought to campus, forums are held, sponsored by the ADP. Administrators, faculty, staff and students are all an essential part of this effort. It was Chancellor Dr. Dunagan's idea to embark on this project. He put Provost and Vice Chancellor Dr. Rakes in charge of it and Dr. Rakes enlisted Dr. McCullough.

In the Fall of 2005 UT Martin was chosen to serve as the host institution for ADP South. Beginning in January 2006, UTM began receiving the New York Times for classes and in bins in all classroom buildings.
