WORK HISTORY
Aug 2003 – present Instructor of English – University of Tennessee at Martin, Martin, Tennessee
As an instructor of English at UT Martin, I teach a variety of courses including English 100, Critical Thinking and Writing; English 111 and 112, Composition; English 251, British Literary Tradition; and English 261, American Literary Tradition. I hold regular office hours and work six to ten hours per week as a Writing Center Assistant.

Summer 2003 and 2004 Instructor of English – Upward Bound, Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky
As a summer English instructor for the Upward Bound program, I teach grammar, vocabulary, writing, and research skills to high school students for five weeks.

Aug 2001 – May 2003 English Adjunct and Graduate Assistant - Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky
As an English adjunct at MSU, I taught English 100, Developmental Writing; English 101, Composition; and English 102, Research and Composition to a variety of students, held regular office hours, attended staff meetings, and collaborated with colleagues to improve curriculum. I also instructed writing labs, assisted in English 111 courses, and regularly prepared and presented academic workshops.

Aug 2000 - Aug 2001 English Writing Center Student Assistant - University of Tennessee at Martin, Martin, Tennessee
As a student assistant, I tutored students of all ages and backgrounds in English grammar and offered advice concerning papers and essays of all types. I also worked with ESL students and hosted “Talk Time,” an informal discussion group in which students gain practice communicating in English. My duties also required assistance in the preparation of academic presentations and workshops.
